Description
Support the Youth Coordinator in planning and project management of regionally focused initiatives in support of the aims of the UK-wide programme.
- Take responsibility for planning and delivery of planned activities, under the guidance of the Youth Coordinator and ensuring compliance with risk and safeguarding policies.
- Ensure all required data is captured and consistently recorded to inform programme monitoring and evaluation.
- Work with colleagues to optimise engagement journeys which build long term relationships and involvement of young people in the wider work of the charity.
- Recruit and induct a network of Young Leaders, working with the Youth Coordinator to help shape and deliver planned initiatives.
- Support young leaders to monitor, record and feedback their interactions with others, making sure they are operating safely and effectively.
- Coordinate the delivery of training and events for Young Leaders to give them the skills and confidence to act in their roles and to achieve their personal goals.
- Work in true collaboration with children and young people to design and deliver the services and resources that will be most responsive to their needs.
- Proactively seek feedback from Young Leaders and others to identify potential improvements to delivery.
- Capture, record and share case studies and personal experiences so that the voices of children and young people are amplified in our work.
- Share learning and best practice with other Youth Workers and across the UKwide programme through team meetings and events.
- Support the delivery of regionally focused communications plans, for both digital and online channels, for and by children and young people.
- Coordinate healthcare professional engagement by Young Leaders, supporting with logistics where needed and gathering feedback and data as required.
- Continuously improve our impact by delivering test and learn approaches to engagement and proactively sharing learning.
- Collaborate across the region/nation team, ensuring close links between youthfocused programme activity and the wider regional plan.
- Build strong and supportive relationships with Young Leaders to ensure they feel fulfilled and impactful in their roles.
- Bring a high level of organisational skill to ensure plans are comprehensive, achievable and measurable.
- Manage your time effectively to achieve your own objectives while supporting wider delivery of initiatives for children and young people in the region.
- Keep up to date on all relevant policies and procedures, ensuring staff, supporters and participants are kept safe, legal and healthy.
- Take responsibility for your personal and professional development, ensuring you complete all required training to operate safely and effectively in your role.
- Show a good level of understanding of monitoring & evaluation processes, and of data collection for reporting purposes.
- Experience of working with children and young people to develop relevant and effective solutions that meet their needs
- Experience of building strong relationships with colleagues and wider stakeholders
- Show confidence in volunteer management to ensure that Young Leaders have the highquality experience in line with our volunteer journey, relevant policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Collaborate across the programme team to ensure alignment where needed in processes, eg monitoring and evaluation, reporting, budget management.
- Be willing and able to travel widely in the region, and to work evenings and weekends, to reach and support more people.
- Demonstrate a passion for the highest standards of quality in delivering services for children and young people.
- JNCrecognised qualification in youth work would be desirable
Salary:
£23,876.00-£26,558.00 per year
