We are a leading transport operator based in St Andrews Fife and pride ourselves on one of the best and modern fleets in Scotland.

We aim to have our fleet kept maintained to the highest standards.

Sadly due to illness we are looking to replace a mechanic.

We are looking to employ a fully qualified mechanic(to join our current full time mechanic) The job will also require you to work some weekends during the peak season(late April to early Oct).

You will enjoy being part of a small friendly team working on your own with quality vehicles We boast a very modern fleet of 40 vehicles up to 43 seats and rotate our vehicle buying them from new so some repairs may be covered by warranty.

Details of job:

To carry out 6 weekly inspections on all company vehicles, vehicle servicing/maintenance, MOT prep and taking to the test station to ensure all vehicles are maintained to DVSA standards.
Prompt repair of any defects reported to highest standards to get vehicles back on road.
Will attend breakdowns in works van to repair/temp vehicle at roadside to get vehicle back to yard. Assist an externally sourced recovery truck back to yard if repair not possible.
When on late shift to be on call out of hours for any breakdown(may take works van home) or emergency assistance to staff via telephone support on mechanical matters.
A lot of the time will be left unsupervised and expected to use own initiative to carry out tasks to maintain fleet to the highest standards.
May need to cover driving jobs if required but only as a last resort if over full capacity from drivers or a last minute hire needs covered and you are on shift.
28 days paid holidays per year
Overtime rate and call out rates also apply.
