Actual Salary £16,449 - £18,426

31.25 hours Monday to Tuesday to Friday Term Time only


Abbey Hill School & College is a successful and over-subscribed school meeting the needs of children and young people with learning difficulties, communication & interaction difficulties and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions.

Our governors are seeking to employ experienced and highly professional qualified individuals to work with pupils with communication & interaction difficulties and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions.

The successful applicants will work alongside an experienced, dedicated and supportive team who are committed to ensuring the best outcomes for our pupils.


Job Purpose
To work with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for SEN pupils.

Providing specialist assistance to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.


You must:


  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents / carers
  • Be willing to undertake Safety Intervention Training
  • Be computer literate, organised and have a good general standard of education at Level 2 or above, including English and Maths as well as meeting the occupational standards in Supporting Teaching & Learning Level
  • Have experience of supporting pupils' learning in a school environment
  • Be resilient and have strong behavioural management skills
  • Ideally have experience of working with pupils with communication & interaction difficulties and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions
