Mail Production Operator (full time)
William Pollard & Co. Ltd.
is seeking a multi-skilled, hardworking, and efficient Mail Production Operator for our busy mailing department, with a proven track record of ensuring the smooth functioning and continuous processing of light mail equipment or similar machinery, and hand enclosing operations.
You must be able to follow standard operating procedures, work in a methodical and tidy manner, be a team player and possess a good working knowledge of the specified operations.
Applicants with the capacity and willingness to work extra hours at short notice could have an advantage, due to the risk of financial penalties for missing agreed postal dates.
You will also be required to cover the Head of Mailing Services' holidays and other absences, and this will lead to opportunities for personal development.
The company has been owned by the Pollard family since 1781 and with almost two-and-a-half centuries of experience and a wide range of services, it's safe to say that we are much more than just a printer.
Key responsibilities
- Make ready and run Quadient mail enclosing equipment
- Make read and run various envelope printing, tabbing and overprinting equipment
- Hand enclosing mail items into envelopes
- Fulfil the mailout targets as specified by daily production schedule
- Maintain safe, organised and tidy work areas.
Competencies
- Proven ability to operate light machinery in Mailing, Print Finishing or similar operations
- Demonstrable ability to efficiently hand enclose mail items
- Must be able to understand and follow written procedures and verbal instructions
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond calmly when under pressure
- Ability to bend, lift and carry packages or objects up to 10kg
- English literacy
- Numeracy
- Computer literacy.
- Computerbased administrative duties
- Overseeing the work of casual and/or agency workers
- Data manipulation and cleansing.

Position
Hours: 37.5 paid hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.30am to 4.30pm including 30-minute unpaid lunch break).
