    Department Chair, Dermatology

    We invite applications from distinguished and visionary academic leaders with a record of accomplishment in administration, clinical practice, research, and education to serve as Department Chair, Dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

    The Opportunity

    This is an extraordinary opportunity to advance the Department of Dermatology across all missions, broaden its impact on the community and the field of Dermatology, and build upon the national profile of the Department after a historic merger.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provide leadership in strategic vision and collaborative implementation to ensure the future growth of the Department.
    2. Oversee the Department's overall clinical, research, academic, and administrative activities.
    3. Work closely with EVMS leadership, faculty, and staff.
    4. Engage in national activities to enhance the department's reputation.
    5. Recruit and mentor faculty and staff.

    Requirements

    • Academic credentials that qualify for appointment as Associate or Full Professor.
    • A national reputation of successful research and/or leadership.
    • Strong clinical leadership experience in an academic setting.
    • MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a related area.
    • Board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
    • An unrestricted Medical License in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
