  • We are seeking a highly motivated person to join the Cumbria and Lancashire Sustainable Places team.

The team seeks to promote and achieve sustainable growth through the planning system, and this is an exciting and challenging role working with and influencing local authorities, developers, partners, the public, and internal colleagues.

We engage on the key issues of flood risk, water resources and quality, remediation of contaminated land, and biodiversity.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

  • Experience/skills requiredYou will be able to demonstrate the following:Good team working skills:

Effective writing skills to influence customers while building strong relationships;
An ability to achieve results and proactively solve problems;
Have good people and project management skills.
An ability to work flexibly responding to competing demands in a time pressured environment.

  • Contact and additional information
  • You will have an agreed Cumbria and Lancashire base at either our Penrith or Preston office. You will have opportunity to work from the office or at home with some flexibility to choose which days and locations. As a dispersed team, occasional travel to sites and offices other than your base location will be required.
