OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Casual Events Crew Supervisor to work alongside the Events team.

The Casual Events Crew Supervisor will supervise the work of the Casual Events Crew to ensure event set-ups and breakdowns are delivered on time and to specification.

They will safeguard health and safety practices on site and provide exceptional levels of service to all users of the venue.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the setup, operation and breakdown of events.
  • Brief Casual Crew on event related tasks, delegate work to competent crew members whilst remaining operational in the role.
  • Assist Events Crew Supervisor with Casual Events Crew Training and Induction.
  • Supervise and take responsibility for the turnaround, load in and load out of events.
This includes, but is not limited to the following duties:


  • Building the house stage, installing the house barrier, use of the house drape systems, installation of the house seats and reconfiguration of the retractable seating according to the plan.
  • Setting up and dismantling other events spaces such as Suites and Bar Areas to meet conference and events client's requirements.
  • Ensuring the venue is ready for each event and all Production areas are neat and tidy.
  • Liaise with Events Crew Supervisor & Events Manager to ensure awareness of the event requirements and react positively to any last minute changes, keeping them informed of any issues and if work is running behind schedule.
  • Ensure all relevant event paperwork and check sheets are completed as appropriate.
  • Provide a venue point of contact for the Promoter and Production throughout the event day as a venue representative.
  • To ensure health & safety compliance at the venue at all times, both personally and in relation to clients and the crewing team.
  • Monitor load in and load out practices to ensure they comply with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
  • Assist the Events Crew Supervisor to deliver Health & Safety Inductions and tool box talks to all Casual Events Crew members.
  • Prior to load in and after load out, ensure the venue is left tidy, clear of obstructions and free from potential health & safety risks.
  • Storage and Maintenance of the Events Department equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is treated with respect at all times.
  • To ensure all equipment is stored correctly, signed in and out and accounted for after each event.
  • Assist the Event Crew Supervisor with inventories of event equipment and report any losses or defects.
  • Assist the Event Crew Supervisor in maintaining storage areas are kept tidy and organised at all times.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • At least two years' work experience in the events industry.
  • Experience of staff supervision.
  • Experience of manual handling and use of mechanical handling equipment.
  • Ability to understand CAD layout plans and be able to set up an event according to plan
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and to keep the team motivated.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with team members, clients, contractors and visiting production teams.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety issues associated with the events industry.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and to share skills with team members.
  • Physically fit, as hard work and heavy lifting is involved.
  • The post holder will be required to work at height and in enclosed spaces.

Desired

  • A Health and Safety qualification (such as IOSH) and/or practical experience in writing risk assessments and method statements would be an advantage.
  • Counterbalance Fork Lift and/or IPF training.
