Hours of work: 5 days a week, 9am - 5pm, 37.5 hours

Swanstaff are looking for a
Stores Person to start ASAP for our client in
Bury St Edmunds (IP31).


You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Re-Use shop under the guidance and instruction of the Shop Manager.

The role will include all aspects of customer services and sales.

The role includes the need to travel to and work from other recycling sites across Suffolk as required based on the needs of the service, 37.25 per week.


Essential

  • Must be ok with heavy lifting
  • UK Drivers licence
  • Must be able to start ASAP

Service Delivery
Assist customers and sell items dealing with all aspects of the transaction

Accurately handle and record cash transactions

Deal with customer service issues

Display stock for sale

Accompany van driver to collect and select items for transporting to shops

Unload vans delivering goods to the shop

Assist in the lifting and carrying of furniture and other items

Maintain records and ensure paperwork is completed in line with procedures


Internal Processes and Systems

  • After receiving training, carry out and record Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) of electrical items
  • Record, display and price incoming stock within agreed guidelines
  • Help to ensure the health and safety of staff, volunteers and members of the public
  • Work within safety guidelines e.g. fire regulations, manual handling
