JOB TITLE - Kitchen Assistant
REPORTS TO - Kitchen Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings as and when required.Be aware of and at all times comply with all Company rules, policies and procedures including statutory requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act, Care Standards and relevant
Regulations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow menus and prepare nutritious, well presented meals to residents within the home
- To take into account and cater for any special dietary requirements and prepare alternatives as required
- To assist the Head Cook in the preparation and revision of menus as required to correspond with the season
- To organise & reorder stock as required or in the Head Cooks absence
- To ensure a high standard of cleanliness is kept within the kitchen, outhouse & equipment at all times.
- To ensure that all charts/reports/checklists are completed accurately and stored safely
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
- Complete all mandatory training and all other training within the Home and keep up to date as determined by organisational & legislative requirement
- To assist any new staff as requested by your Line Manager
TEAM PARTICIPATION
- To assist the Manager/Senior with other tasks as required
- Be part of the team by attending and participating in meetings & training sessions
- To develop good working relationships with staff in the home and outside agencies
- Ensure the home is a safe place to live & work following health & safety procedures
- Respond to emergencies as appropriate
Salary:
From £10.92 per hour
Expected hours:
No less than 36 per week
