JOB TITLE - Kitchen Assistant


REPORTS TO - Kitchen Manager


PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings as and when required.

Regulations.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow menus and prepare nutritious, well presented meals to residents within the home
  • To take into account and cater for any special dietary requirements and prepare alternatives as required
  • To assist the Head Cook in the preparation and revision of menus as required to correspond with the season
  • To organise & reorder stock as required or in the Head Cooks absence
  • To ensure a high standard of cleanliness is kept within the kitchen, outhouse & equipment at all times.
  • To ensure that all charts/reports/checklists are completed accurately and stored safely

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

  • Complete all mandatory training and all other training within the Home and keep up to date as determined by organisational & legislative requirement
  • To assist any new staff as requested by your Line Manager

TEAM PARTICIPATION

  • To assist the Manager/Senior with other tasks as required
  • Be part of the team by attending and participating in meetings & training sessions
  • To develop good working relationships with staff in the home and outside agencies
  • Ensure the home is a safe place to live & work following health & safety procedures
  • Respond to emergencies as appropriate

Salary:
From £10.92 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 36 per week
