Senior Analytics Leader
Aon is currently recruiting an experienced Catastrophe Modeller to join our UK Property Analytics team in London.

Aon's Catastrophe Analytics team is the best regarded of its kind in Europe.

The team sits within Aon Reinsurance Solutions and provides clients (Global Reinsurance Companies, syndicates and reinsurers) with advice on their exposures to natural disasters such as windstorms, floods and earthquakes.


Comprised of enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals, the UK Property team is continuously looking for ways to evolve our clients' understanding and view of catastrophe risk.

Working closely with our brokers, academic partners and our model evaluation specialists enables us to perform and draw from expert analysis and experience to make better decisions for our clients.

What the day will look like

  • Be the client analytics lead on reinsurance analytics and lead the interaction across multiple cat and noncat analytics projects and placements for Global Reinsurance Clients
  • Lead conversations with reinsurers, brokers and actuaries to understand exposures, review modelling results, explain modelling limitations and resolve issues promptly specific to your clients
  • Participate in corporate practice groups and committees related to cat modelling and cat risk management.
  • Advise clients on potential incurred losses, postevent and on risk management basis

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics for insurers, reinsurers, or similar financial services
  • MSc or higher qualification ideally in, finance, statistics, science or equivalent
  • Experience in the following:
  • Catastrophe modelling experience with vendor models (RMS, AIR, JBA, CoreLogic)
  • Catastrophe Model Validation and Evaluation
  • Implementation of Climate Change solutions
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, listening, and writing)
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office suite (skills in programming and machine learning are highly beneficial)
  • Tableau or PowerBI experience beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and criticalthinking skills complemented by a solid grounding working with and interpreting statistics.
  • Good attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to prioritise work within a dynamic, deadlinedriven environment
  • Highly motivated and strong work ethics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to lead teams and be flexible in working to meet deadlines across multiple projects and clients
  • Ability to approach problemsolving in a practical and innovative manner
  • Ability to maintain compliance with professional standards, where applicable, as well as companywide quality initiatives
