Connect2Luton are excited to recruit for a Customer Service Advisor on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Customer and Commercial department


As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be responsible for to deliver accessible, professional, quality services to all customers by placing them at the heart of the Councils activity.


To be successful in this role you must be able to provide first contact resolutions in order to achieve better outcomes for customers either through the Service centre or Contact centre.


About the Role

  • Own, process and resolve complex individual enquiries, complaints and customer requests received.
  • Help to mentor and train staff to ensure we are providing a quality and up to date advice and guidance.
  • Use multiple ICT & Customer contact systems effectively.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement by identifying areas of waste and or service failure and promotional activity for example the Council's Channel shift agenda.

About you

  • Show experience of working in a Customer Contact environment providing Information, Advice and Guidance.
  • Ability to deal with enquiries and advice members of the public through multiple ways (able to deal with difficult enquiries and behaviour).
  • Able to speak easily with members if the public providing effective help and advice.
  • Ability to establish and quickly put together facts/information, use your initiative to problem solve.
  • Proficient in multiple ICT and customer contact systems.
  • Numeracy skills.
  • Able to record accurate information, customer documents and case records.
  • Able to support and train staff.
  • Able to interpret legislation such as Housing Benefits, Housing, Adult Social Care or Council Tax. NVQ Level 2 /Level
  • Able to travel around the Borough as and when needed.
