We are recruiting to the role of Hospital Support Assistant Team Leader at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

This role is flexible, designed to coordinate and lead the activities of a team/shift of Hospital Support Assistants.

The team provides and maintains a full range of cleaning, catering (ward-based), linen and deep clean services, ensuring at all times the highest levels of cleanliness and food hygiene.

The staff need to have the proper training, materials and equipment to provide the highest quality service and are compliant with Trust Policy and Procedure.


The main duties of this role include:

  • Managing a small team of Hospital Support Assistants
  • Managing and maintaining rotas
  • Ensuring staff training is uptodate
  • Covering all areas if and when needed to support HSA role
  • Maintaining the highest possible standards of compassionate and professional patient care with particular attention to privacy and dignity.
  • Working to the National Standards of Cleanliness
  • Managing staff annual leave
  • Auditing all area
  • Completing sickness return to works with staff
  • Training
