Reed Scientific are partnered with a lovely Manufacturing company based near Cwmbran, who are looking for a Technical Manager to come and join their business.

Their manufacturing facility fosters a friendly and welcoming working environment, whereby everyonepitches in, with a collaborative, close knit team, across the entire site.

You will have overall responsibility of the Research and Development & Regulatory Compliance function for all products within the organisations portfolio.

This is a newly formed position within the business and will give the successful individual the opportunityto manage a Technical team of 3.

This position could suit someone who wants to take the next step in their career, maybe you have been working at Senior R&D Chemist level and looking for the training and development to take the next step up? Alternatively, we are also open to applicantswho have worked at Technical Manager level in a similar industry and seeking a new challenge

Core Responsibilities;

Be accustomed to operating in an ISO 9001 / 22716 environment and be experienced in developing good technical, engineering and project/programme controls. Experience in developing and executing 'changemanagement programmes.
A proven track record in completing development projects from concept phase to handover phase or from transfer to development, setting and achieving all milestones on time and in full.
Provide a strong regulatory compliance service to the site and the connection.
Experienced in developing methods from pilot scale through to full scale production.
Working at a strategic level, analysing markets and trends to ensure products are continually developed and in line with market demands.
Experienced in the external Customer interface to ensure their needs are being met with new/up and coming products in the market.
Working cross functionally with multiple departments across the business including; Design, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Sales.

Desirable Criteria:

BSc in Chemistry as a minimum, or equivalent Technical discipline qualifications.
Project Management experience and Prince2 / APMP qualifications.
Accustomed to operating in an ISO 9001 / 22716 environment
Experienced in leading a Technical department in one of the following highly regulated manufacturing industries; Food, Pharma, Medical Devices, Cosmetics, Personal Care & Hygiene.
Strong background in Quality and R&D.
