A quick look at the role.


The role holder, reporting directly to the Supervisor will be responsible for the operation of mobile plant, housekeeping activities, basic maintenance and cleaning of fixed process plant, associated record keeping, in compliance with site licences/PPC Permits and health and safety legislation.

  • Operation of Front end Bucket loader and 360 excavators, stockpile materials, feed the process plant, store finished products, load outgoing vehicles; carry out housekeeping and maintenance activities and any other tasks required.
  • Carry out daily maintenance and record keeping for mobile plant and plant equipment.
  • Carry out housekeeping activities in all areas of the site.
  • Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under the direction of Foreman and Site Manager.
  • Carry out daily operations on site as directed by site management.
  • Carry our regular inspections of site infrastructure.
  • Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic in all internal areas.
  • Liaise with BWS and external hauliers to ensure timely dispatch of materials from site.
  • Liaise with Foreman to ensure timely supply of process consumables to minimise process downtime and maximise throughput.
  • Taking due care for the safety of self and others in accordance with health and safety legislation, company procedure and toolbox talks. Reporting of any safety or environmental issues to site management.
  • Attend site safety meetings/toolbox talks when required.
  • To carry out any other reasonable job related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of plant operations.
  • Understanding of health and safety issues.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Good organisational skills.

Desirable:


  • D6 dozer, excavator, and loading shovel.
