Learning Support Assistant


Are you a qualified and experience learning support assistant who is looking for a new role for the new academic year? If so then REED Education are looking for you.

We are currently supporting a secondary school in Solihull who are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to start with them as soon as possible.

The role will be to provide support with students with Special Educational Needs.

The LSA will be someonewho will be able to engage, inspire and act as emotional support for students that would otherwise struggle to engage in learning.

You will inspire the students to access the same level of learning as their peers, in addition you will be able to run specificallytailored programmes enabling the students to maintain and develop their learning and social needs.


Some of the day to day duties will include; providing learning support for students within in the classroom setting but also in smaller groups and also in and around school, especially during busier times of the day.

To develop positive relationships andto act as a positive role model for young influential minds. To work in collaboration with the SENDco, class teacher but also where applicable external agencies.

The LSA will have an embedded passion about working with students with additional needs and havea determination to develop their lifelong ambitions.


  • Have experience of working as a Leaning Support Assistant or working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a secondary school
  • Have a level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Team teach training would be desirable but not essential
  • Have understanding of First aid, in particular, understanding around allergies and use of an epi pen and/or inhalers.
  • Have proven track record of improving the outcomes of influential young minds
  • Be empathetic and be able to provide, social, emotional and mental support
  • Be friendly and kind
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to pay for one.
