As the Category Manager you will:

  • Manage all ranges with merchandising, product developers and designers
  • Review all product proposals at a detailed level, from fabric, price point, supplier and volumes
  • You will want to know how each style fits into certain categories of your department
  • You will monitor and review department mixes with the merchandising function
  • Attend wholesale & partner meetings, supportive the selection process
  • Create and monitor with the merchandising function all reports, actions and strategies by partner, but at all times protecting the brands image
  • Seek and obtain new partnerships and business to drive the growth of your departments
  • Continuously strive for improving product working closely to design and product developers always staying one step ahead
  • Define and plan the trading calendar
  • Monitor and regularly track critical dates with the product teams
  • Review all market intel monthly, if not weekly, by always having your eye on the competition
  • Launch and monitor the success of launches at all levels of trading i.e store, online or via partners
  • Plan key strategy decks, sharing with internal and external stakeholders

As the Senior Category Manager you must:

  • Be from a wholesale, merchandising or category management background
  • Have a Bachelors degree in business or fashion
  • Must have led a team and have been a direct line manager

  • Be from a retail, head office
  • Developed, implemented and seen the results of your own strategy plans
  • Have a strong knowledge or passion about the sports areas you will oversee
