Description

Provide support to community medical staff by carrying out developmental observations and accurately reporting. Undertake basic monitoring procedures at the request of the community paediatrician e.g. Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Temperature. Carry out QB (ADHD) testing in accordance with local arrangements.

Provide support to community medical staff by supervising children attending out-patient clinics. Assist the Audiologist in performing hearing tests as appropriate to the childs age and development. Basic operation of the Audiology equipment, perform maintenance tasks and ensure that the equipment is fully operational. Ensure that sufficient time is given for each appointment and to keep clinics running smoothly.

Promote and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all patients/clients and a pleasant and receptive atmosphere for patients, visitors and friends.

Be responsible for infection prevention within paediatric out patient clinics. Assist the clinical staff to provide a team approach to patient/client care. Contribute to the legibility and accuracy of all documentation.

Attend and participate in appropriate meetings Show an awareness of clinical governance Promote a team approach to patient/client care in conjunction with medical staff and professions allied to medicine.
