About us

For over 160 years Battersea has been here for dogs and cats, and the need for our services, expertise and impact for animals has never been greater.

We provide expert care to dogs and cats who need us by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming around 5,000 animals every year at our three centres across the South East by our c550 staff and 1000 volunteers.

We also share our knowledge and resources with animal rescue organisations around the world through our Academy and grant making Global Programmes, and campaign tirelessly to make things better for dogs and cats; sharing our expertise and educating the public and policymakers about responsible pet ownership.

About the role

This exciting and impactful role works directly with the Director of Human Resources and Head of Learning & Organisational Development ensuring that people are at the centre of everything we do here at Battersea.

Our extensive People Plan supports the strategic and operational priorities of Battersea and you'll lead our HR team and work closely with senior colleagues as a member of Battersea's organisation-wide Senior Leadership Team to deliver this.

You will provide operational leadership to the HR team to ensure a professional and proactive HR service that enables us to recruit, retain and develop high quality staff, is valued by colleagues and reinforces Battersea's organisational values, and will lead a wide range of strategic workstreams that make Battersea an even better place to work.
