Analytical Chemist
This on-site role is a critical role within the Quality Control function. Analytical Technician will be responsible for the testing and releasing of antigens and raw materials needed for vaccine production.
This is a 12 month temporary contract role offeringan hourly rate of up to £17 per hour, depending on experience, plus 25 days holiday pro rata and other benefits.
As an Analytical Technician you will:
- Perform analytical testing (raw materials, 100% ID; antigen/ FPU testing; packaging and water testing)
- Responsible for the review of batch release data and data quality
- Perform safety assessments (RA, MH and COSHH) and ensure correct signage and maintaining documentation for safe operations within the lab
- Support inspections and audits readiness of lab
- Ensure Lab is always working at GMP level
- Work alongside your team members and team lead to meet release deadlines
- Ensure timely review of all data results from tests performed, identify any invalids or atypical results.
- SAP ensure timely completion of results in SAP
- Be involved in the planning of assays
- Responsible for the generation of quality data
- Work on a diverse and inclusive environment
- Perform safety assessments
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 1 years on a GMP environment
- Experience with analytical testing (formaldehyde, thiomersal, nitrogen testing). Advantageous if you have worked within manufacture Health company.
- Sound understanding and working knowledge of GMP Quality Systems
- Knowledge of GLM/GLP environment
- Reagent Preparation
- Understand Laboratory investigations
- Proficient in use of MS Office especially Excel and Word
- Experience with raw material testing
- Positive attitude and motivation to perform work independently
- Able to communicate at all levels and across all functions
- Ability to communicate concise technical information with clarity
- Flexible approach to changing priorities
- Attention to detail
- Positive mindset
- Cross functional work experience
- SAP knowledge desirable
- Knowledge of Minitab Statistical software a big advantage
- Experience with raw material and antigen analytical testing desirable.
Education:
- Degree on Scientific area (chemistry or analytical) or equivalent experience
