Introduction


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Greater Manchester Resilience Unit,
a shared service established by Greater Manchester's Councils to deliver expertise in civil contingencies.

If successful in being appointed, you will provide high quality business and administration support services to Greater Manchester's Chief Resilience Officer.

Operating within a fast-paced environment you will also support the multi-agency response to emergencies as part of a 365/24/7 on call rota.


The work of the Greater Manchester Resilience Unit is delivered in a wider multi-agency environment with civil contingencies activity across Greater Manchester coordinated through the Greater Manchester Resilience Forum, a statutory partnership that brings together over 80 organisations involved in planning for, responding to and recovering from emergencies.

We are looking for a Business Support Officer to join our busy team to:

  • Provide business support services to the Greater Manchester Resilience Unit to enable effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Provide and coordinate administrative and secretarial services; including the coordination of meetings with internal and external stakeholders undertaking appropriate preparation and followup action as required.

Who we're looking for

  • Experience of using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure to provide high level administrative support and maintain effective administration systems
  • Provision of diary management to senior officers
  • Able to prioritise workload, deliver to set deadlines yet respond to ever changing priorities
  • Welldeveloped verbal and written communication skills including accurate minute taking
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Manage filing, record keeping and cataloguing systems
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues across all sectors and levels
