    Job Description: Manager, Sustainability, M&E Reporting and Controls, Birmingham

    This role involves leading technical areas related to auditing, compliance, data reporting, and social and environmental sustainability. Responsibilities include overseeing auditing, verification, controls processes, quality assurance of external reporting, and managing transparency efforts with partners and the public. The role requires aligning internal stakeholders and external partners across global teams.

    How you will contribute

    You will manage Cocoa Life reporting projects, ensure reporting quality, verify data, and collaborate with the global ESG team to ensure data assurance. Your work will support economic well-being of farming families, community development, and environmental sustainability by maintaining relationships with evaluators, verifiers, and ground partners. Additional tasks include standardizing reporting procedures, analyzing sustainability data with research partners, participating in multi-stakeholder initiatives, and ensuring legal compliance.

    What you will bring

    • Experience in data quality, monitoring, and evaluation within agricultural supply chains in smallholder settings
    • Understanding of the relationship between business impact, raw material sustainability, and reporting data quality
    • Knowledge of verification, standardization, controls, and assurance approaches
    • Understanding of agricultural supply chains from farm to manufacturing
    • Familiarity with regulatory initiatives related to assurance and reporting in agricultural raw materials
    • Networking and negotiating skills
    • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including farmers, researchers, government and business leaders, and suppliers

    Additional Information

    This position supports social development and environmental sustainability objectives, focusing on reporting, quality assurance, and verification, in collaboration with various stakeholders.

    Ideal candidates are self-starters interested in sustainable development, thorough, diligent, and reliable. Prior experience in private business is preferred. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French and/or Spanish is helpful. Experience with data analysis software (e.g., Python, R, SPSS, STATA) and GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) is a plus. The role is suitable for remote work with access to a Mondelēz office. Salary starts at €3,000 plus performance-based bonuses, with attractive benefits.
