Project Management Officer (DEFRA)

6+ month ongoing contract

JOB PURPOSE
To work as a member of a team providing a high standard of service to the public.

To project manage in resilience within floods and coastals.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and manage the activities of the project's specialist teams and partners.
Establish effective governance and reporting mechanisms.
Establish the management strategy. Manage the critical risks. Constructively respond to and manage change, redrawing programmes and budget allocations to correct deviations from agreed funding.
Establish systems and procedures in relation to finance, data, project planning, monitoring and evaluation to ensure delivery of individual work streams and the programme as a whole.
Take full responsibility for all financial matters relating to the programme, to regularly review the expenditure and funding profiles and prepare funding projections.
Ensure effective coordination, liaison and communication with other projects in the Defra national programme and their partners
