We currently have a vacancy for a Project Support Officer to join our Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP).

The VRP was established in 2019 to tackle and raise awareness of serious violence through projects across West Yorkshire.

The VRP brings together specialists from health, police, local government, education, youth justice, prisons, probation and community organisations to tackle violent crime and the underlying causes of violent crime.


This role will work across the Violence Reduction Partnership providing project support across our delivery team and our Knowledge Hub.


The Role:

Reporting into a Senior Programme Delivery Manager and with matrix management from the Knowledge Hub Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing project and operational support for the Delivery Team and Knowledge Hub function of the Violence Reduction Partnership.
  • Support the project management of our delivery and the associated monitoring and evaluation.
  • Act as a point of contact for partners and aid with data collection activity.
  • Support external communications and grant/contract management.
  • Support, check and verify required reporting procedures and returns to ensure they are received in a timely, accurate and complete manner. Ensuring that compliance obligations are met.
  • Assist with the collection and review of funding claims from grant funded partners and contracted suppliers, ensuring claims are in line with budget planning for the programme
  • Support the VRP to track programme progress and spend against budgets and assist Delivery and Knowledge Hub colleagues to take rectification actions.
  • Support the update and maintenance of project and programme documents including using established version control techniques.
  • Prepare reports and external communication documents to promote the work of the VRP and support statutory and VCSE partners in their own activity.
  • Work with the Knowledge Hub to support requests for data collection.
  • Provide direct support to VRP colleagues and delivery partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery against VRP funding and the Home Office objective.
  • Develop and build excellent working relationships with key teams across the VRP network including the Policing and Crime Team and wider WYCA, CSPs, Health, Delivery Partners to ensure the successful delivery of VRU objectives.

About You:


You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience

  • Educated to A level or equivalent relevant education/ experience
  • Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role
  • Knowledge and practical experience of building and maintaining relationships.
  • Knowledge and experience of gathering information and report writing
  • Knowledge and experience of maintaining accurate and compliant programme/project documentation
  • Ability to gather, review, understand and report information
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with VRU colleagues to ensure delivery of VRU objectives
  • Ability to travel across West Yorkshire as and when required
  • Able to be available outside of normal hours to provide support and advice to VRU colleagues
  • Able to work flexibly to support the work of the Delivery Team and Knowledge Hub.
