The 50-person Digital Roads of the Future (DRF) Initiative is a partnership led by the University of Cambridge, National Highways (NH) and Costain that is sponsored in the first instance by the Digital Roads (DR) and Future Roads (FR) programmes.

The DR programme is an £8.6 mil 5-year EPSRC Prosperity Partnership grant led by one Academic and two Industry Principal Investigators and supported by three Academic and five Industry Co-Investigators.

The FR programme is a £5.9 mil EC MSCA COFUND grant which is led by one Academic Principal Investigator and supported by four Academic Co-Investigators.


We are seeking a Programme Coordinator, based in West Cambridge, who will provide vital support to the academic, research and management staff, and will develop and maintain administrative policy and processes for the DRF initiative.

This will involve coordinating and monitoring the operations of the Digital Roads and Future Roads projects, as well as liaising with key stakeholders.

You will also act as Executive Assistant to the initiative's PI as well as liaise with and support the DRF investigators and the administrative team in developing, delivering and managing the initiative.

You will be educated to degree level or have an equivalent level of practical experience. You will possess excellent interpersonal and networking skills, including relationship management. Administrative financial, project and programme management skills are desirable for this role.

Experience in managing administrative processes of large-scale EPSRC or EU-funded research projects would be desirable, as well as previous experience working at the industry/academic interface.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2027 in the first instance.
