Description

About the Role

We've gone through an intense period of transformation in the last 12 months - bringing together what was 3 established companies (Para-Sols, Apricity, The Art of Finance) into the one company, The Verve Group.

It's been a positive restructure and one that now needs building on for the future, now we're on the other side it - and this role is integral to achieving this

A positive employee experience is absolutely paramount to how we operate - our unofficial mantra is 'ban the Sunday night dread'.

And so, our strategic focus is on creating roles which are focused on meeting the needs of our employees, ensuring that we have happy, engaged and high performing individuals and teams.

The People Officer is a new role in our Business Operations department, within a fast-paced business, this role will be varied - think of all aspects of HR, recruitment, culture, engagement, training, talent and performance Success in this generalist role would be taking responsibility for duties such as;

  • Delivery and monitoring of all HR administration such as sickness, holidays, maternity and paternity leave etc.
  • Review, maintain and implement all company policies and procedures.
  • Support and develop managers to implement effective performance management procedures.
  • Develop and monitor staff wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Work with hiring managers to lead on recruitment activity and onboard and induct effectively.
  • Work with our communication lead to support all needed internal comms and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to colleagues facing challenges professionally and personally.
FTE salary is up to £25,000.

About You*The relevant skills and experience needed to successfully deliver on all the above is crucial, of course we know that, but there's also some extra bits that need considering too, such as:
  • Having the ability to work autonomously, self
  • motivated and energetically.
  • Being computer literate and confident using new technology systems we can teach you how to use our systems (and even the Mac itself) but technophobes need not apply
  • Being flexible and agile in your approach to work we're fast paced. Like, really fast and are not afraid to try new things. So, if you're used to a steady pace of life with no detours, then we're not the company for you (don't worry, we don't take it personally).
  • Having business acumen working closely with the leadership team to deliver on related strategic goals.
  • Being creative in your thinking, discreet and professional you'll work with all levels and so your integrity is paramount to handling confidential information.
  • Being approachable and passionate about the wellbeing of others one of our company values is 'got your back' and this role will be the embodiment of that.
  • Having some knowledge or past experience of working closely with finance on payroll and a range of employee benefits.

Ideally, you'll also have at least 2 years of generalist experience of working within a modern HR/people department and have a recognised HR qualification (or at least working towards to it).
