Description

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative dietitian and have a rare opportunity to join the UCLH Centre for Weight loss, Metabolic and Endocrine Surgery multidisciplinary team.

UCLH provides medical and surgical obesity services for adults with obesity in accordance with NICE guidelines. Medical treatment includes intensive weight-loss management programmes coupled with pharmacotherapy. Surgical procedures include gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and complex revision surgery.

The medical and surgical components of the services are interlinked with cross-flow of patients between medical and surgical components. The existing Bariatric/Obesity Services multidisciplinary team is comprised of Bariatric Surgeons, Physicians, Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Dietitians.

The main purpose of the dietetic posts are to provide clinical nutrition and dietetic expertise to in-patients and out-patients attending the Medical and Surgical Obesity Services at UCLH and to be an integral member of the Obesity Services Multidisciplinary Team.

Dietitians work together to provide combined dietetic support for both the medical and surgical services.

You should have strong clinical and leadership skills, excellent negotiation skills, the ability to work effectively within teams and be able to manage your time efficiently in a constantly changing environment.

Bariatrics has a strong research ethos and an interest in research and audit is key to this role.
