We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, motivated and talented Senior Sous Chef to join our client's team based at this independent boarding school near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
As a day and boarding school, the kitchen caters for approx. 950 people including staff as well as hospitality, fine dining, events and functions. The school is open during the summer holidays however there are mínimal numbers on site (50/60).As the Senior Sous Chef, you will be working alongside the Head Chef and Exec Chef and supporting with the running of the kitchen.
The food is of a high standard and you will be creative and inventive with ingredients to ensure there is minimum food waste.
All food is freshly prepared using quality seasonal ingredients.As well as core feeding, the catering department provides high scale hospitality for parents' evenings, sports days, Governors dinners, fine dining, events and functions.
Working hours are 5 over 7, 40 hours per week and this is a full time contract (52 weeks). There is also paid overtime available.- Be at Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef level with a proven work background
- Ideally have worked within B&I, education or a high standard restaurant/hotel kitchen
- Be able to cater for volume on a daily basis
- Lead, manage and motivate a team whilst working as a team player
- Be inventive and creative with menus ensuring minimum food wastage
- Have excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and remain calm
- Have an eye for detail and presentation
- Have strong communication skills and able to liaise well with colleagues as well as customers
- Be friendly and flexible with a positive can do attitude
