Following a full Council transformation and a move to hybrid working in the last few years, Maldon District Council are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified HR professional to lead the workforce strategy and new ways of working for the future shaping of the Council.

If you are a strong team player, self-motivated and are focused on a new vision for HR services which will contribute to the changing landscape and modern ways of working for Councils in the future, this would be the role for you.

You will lead a dedicated team of HR professionals and work within a connected and supportive Resources function.

You will help to lead the change agenda, manage the remit of Human Resources across the Council as well as undertake complex and sensitive case work.

About this role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires innovation and the ability to lead on strategic and operational priorities, including cultural change.

This role will be a trusted partner to senior managers and the leadership team ensuring effective approaches to workforce challenges, enabling innovative and sustainable solutions to ensure organisational effectiveness.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a vision and commitment to improvement as well as have the strong professional technical skills and experience to deliver the operational requirements of the role.

Essential criteria include full membership, or working towards, CIPD; extensive generalist experience; a proactive and risk-based approach to problem solving; a proven track record of delivery, and strong communication, management, and interpersonal skills.

Although this is a full-time post, consideration will also be given to applicants who may wish to work on a flexible basis.

This role can be delivered on a hybrid basis with remote working but with the need to attend the office location according to operational need.
