Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS Trust (DIHC) has developed and integrated primary care with community-based services within the Dudley healthcare system since 2020 with its core aim being community where possible and hospital when necessary.

Our purpose is to improve the health and wellbeing of our local population in Dudley.


We are currently working with organisations within the health care sector in Dudley and the Black Country System to look at the best way to continue to deliver the services to our patients.

As such the services within the organisation may transfer to other organisations over the course of the next 12 months.

This role involves providing high quality and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Practice GP's.

  • Processing referrals through NHS E-Referral service on behalf of patients on GP advice, ensuring these are managed in a timely way and in line with appropriate guidelines.
  • Monitoring Choose & Book worklists on behalf of GPs and following up accordingly, utilising the digital systems in line with guidance.
  • Maintaining the 2 week wait tracker with uptodate information on appointments and findings.
  • Compiling insurance reports and obtaining consent from patients regarding medical records in line with guidelines.
  • Sending invoices upon request of GPs as needed.
  • Accepting SARs on behalf of the GP's and ensuring they are appropriately recorded and passed on.
  • Requesting past medical notes when required.
  • Attending meetings with the GP's or other staff, taking notes and typing of minutes, ensuring these are accurate and distributed accordingly.
  • Chasing correspondence from NHS Trusts or private hospitals on behalf of patients and GP's.
  • Maintaining DNA information on behalf of GP's including, contacting patients on behalf of the GP's as needed.
  • Supporting patients to set up their online access to the practice system.
