Looking for a chance to start in childcare in an exciting and engaging nursery setting? St Andrews Preschool are looking for a committed enthusiastic apprentice to join the team.
You will be providing childcare in a home from home environment for children aged 2-4 years old.St Andrews Preschool maintains a home from home feel, and through a nurturing approach, supports children to develop their emotional health, physical health and wellbeing.
As an Apprentice you will be- Shadowing staff to be inducted on the day to day preschool routine
- Following the preschool policies and procedures and undertaking training to develop your knowledge on these
- Learning to plan stimulating activities for the children in your care in line with the EYFS
- Assisting in delivering a high level of quality childcare maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff
- Building effective relationships with children, parents and team members
- Ensuring each child's individual needs are met
- Contributing to the safeguarding of all children. Attending safeguarding refresher training when held
- Actively work towards the apprenticeship standards provided by Realise with an expectation of completion within the agreed timeframe
- Be enthusiastic and proactive in developing own skills within the workplace
- Demonstrate commitment to continued professional development
As an apprentice, you will be working alongside highly experience practitioners who will mentor and support you throughout your apprenticeship.
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer.
St Andew's will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered through St Andrew's dedicated training provider, Realise.
Realise is an established training provider that's enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.

Entry Requirements and Qualifications
GSCE grades 3 or above in both maths and English or equivalent Functional Skills Level 1 or above.
Other Information
DBS Required for the role.
Free parking available. Accessible by bus (2 minute walk from stop). Train station is 5/10 minutes away. Bus can be caught from the train station.
