Warwickshire County Council wants to be a County with a sustainable future through adapting to, and mitigating climate change and has committed to do this as one of the Council's three strategic objectives.

To support this the Council is seeking to appoint a
Climate Change Adaptation Officer**, to join the Sustainable Futures Team.


Responding to the challenges of climate change and sustainability, the Council has developed its Sustainable Futures Strategy which embodies a range of themes that need to be delivered to tackle the climate change crisis, the biodiversity crisis and the cost of living crisis.

Two major pieces of work have recently been completed to assess climate risk and identify associated mitigation actions.

Expertise is now required to improve the resilience of the Council and support our communities and partners adapt to the current and future impacts of climate change.

About the role

  • Lead the Council's and the County's response to climate change impacts;
  • Develop and manage internal and external stakeholder collaborative networks;
  • Lead the delivery and development of the Climate Change adaptation action plan.
Key requirements


You will have specialist knowledge and experience of climate change impacts and adaptation strategies and process, strong technical leadership and be a highly effective communicator and influencer.
