We have an exciting opportunity in the department of Estates & Facilities Management for someone with a passion for building surveying and property, with the drive to make a real difference to the way we work around campus and have skills and knowledge to play a key role in developing the Surveying Team.


We seek to appoint a dynamic and driven Building Surveyor to work on all aspects of building surveying in accordance with the University's policies and procedures to ensure business continuity, efficiency, and safety across the University's estate.


Your expert knowledge and experience of building surveying and construction will provide essential support to the Surveying Team, providing strategic advice and ensuring accurate information in a timely fashion to assist with the running of the estate.

You will ideally be a qualified Building Surveyor able to make practical use of your expert knowledge.


You will be an analytical problem solver, having the ability to resolve issues with an appreciation of wider, longer-term property related implications.


The Department of Estates & Facilities Management (EFM) at the University of Sheffield is responsible for the management of the University's estate, including managing property and facilities and developing new buildings.


The Surveying Team is well placed within EFM and is involved in the whole property cycle integral to short and long-term decisions, both at individual and campus level with the University, having over 300 buildings both owned and leased.
