Overview
2fawcett are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced
MRP Controller to join our client's team and drive operational excellence across their supply chain functions.
Responsibilities of the MRP Controller
- Utilise the MRP system to analyse and determine material requirements based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory levels. Generate purchase requisitions or production orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods. Implement strategies to optimise inventory turnover, minimise stockouts, and reduce excess inventory. Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to manage relationships with suppliers. Communicate material requirements, lead times, and quality specifications. Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Work closely with production teams to understand production schedules, capacity constraints, and demand fluctuations. Coordinate material availability to ensure smooth production flow and minimise production downtime.
- Update and maintain accurate information in the MRP system, including item master data, bills of materials, lead times, and pricing. Perform regular data analysis and identify areas for improvement to enhance system effectiveness.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gather market intelligence and develop accurate demand forecasts. Use historical data, market trends, and customer insights to improve forecasting accuracy and support strategic decisionmaking.
- Identify opportunities to optimise supply chain processes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. Implement best practices, lean methodologies, and process improvements to enhance overall supply chain performance.
- Generate reports and provide regular updates on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory levels, material availability, ontime delivery, and supplier performance. Analyse data trends, identify root causes of issues, and propose actionable recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and internal policies. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as singlesource dependencies, long lead times, or capacity constraints.
Requirements of the MRP Controller
- Proven experience as an MRP Controller or in a similar supply chain planning role.
- Strong knowledge of MRP systems and inventory management concepts.
- Proficiency in using ERP software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with crossfunctional teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management practices.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Salary:
£38,000.00 per year
