The role requires someone to be dynamic and a self-starter able to work on their own initiative with mínimal direction.

Whilst maintaining a close working relationship with the Operations Manager you will be required to own duties and run with them, taking responsibility to solve problems and see tasks through to completion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support other fundraising streams where time allows. This may include business giving, high networth individuals, online, events or other funding streams.
  • Work with the Operations Manager and partners in Zimbabwe to develop new proposals.
  • Work with the Operations Manager and partners in Zimbabwe to develop new budgets.
  • Maintain records of possible funders, approaches made, funder preferences and other useful info.
  • Perform periodic analysis of opportunities, successes and contribute to fundraising strategies.
  • Record terms set by funders to ensure spending and reporting stays in line.
  • Continue to encourage supporters to maintain their regular donations and inspire new supporters through relationship development.
  • Other duties in support of general operations as required at the time.

Skills, knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Demonstrably successful fundraising experience.
  • Passionate about social justice and the work of ZET and our partners.
  • Professional, enthusiastic and proactive to work on own initiative.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, identifying opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to tailor information in compelling ways and towards the needs of varying audiences.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and timemanagement skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good IT literacy including MS Word and Internet with intermediate or higher level of MS Excel.
  • Languages: English.

Desirable

  • Experience of different methods of charity fundraising.
  • Knowledge and understanding of international development.
  • Basic budgeting and financial management skills.
