About Our Place Advice Service
The Our Place Advice Service provides information and support on welfare matters specifically focused on welfare benefits.

The Advice Service aims to support the most vulnerable members of our community - those who are not typically able to independently access universal welfare support services.

Our support is bespoke to each client and we offer support through to a sustainable outcome.

Hours: 15 hours per week

Salary:
£12.00 p/h - £12.51 p/h

The Our Place Advice Service are seeking an Advisor to join our expanding team.

Purpose of the role

To be an integral team member of the Our Place Advice Service delivering advice and support to clients on a 1-2-1 basis on the issues of Benefits, Housing and Unemployment.

This role will require some elements of remote working and delivery of the service across North Birmingham.

Key role and responsibilities

To hold a caseload of clients and oversee the support they require from the initial meeting through to a positive outcome.
To work independently to support the needs of clients.
To work as a team to navigate complex cases; providing peer support to fellow Advisors
To proactively source resources and information that will assist in delivering effective advice and support to clients.
To ensure clients exiting the service have clear exit strategies, including onward referrals where appropriate.
To write up all case notes in a timely manner giving sufficient detail and storing in line with our GDPR policy.
To attend relevant meetings appropriate to the role.
To attend regular team meetings, case management meetings and practice supervision.
To undertake identified training required by the role.
