Description
Ensure all necessary day to day maintenance of the accounting system is carried out Make all necessary sales and purchase ledger entries and any adjustments which are authorised

  • Calculate and issue all customer invoices incorporating fees, disbursements and all other charges
  • Produce regular reports of overdue fees and assist the Bursar with the collection of outstanding fees
  • Register incoming supplier invoices and check against purchase orders and delivery notes, forwarding to authorised signatories for approval
  • Produce supplier payments schedules and associated remittance advices for all authorised payments, despatching to suppliers accordingly
  • Set up, maintain and operate payment arrangements by BACS where appropriate and as authorised
  • Maintain records of direct debit payment schedules
  • Ensure bank reconciliations are carried out in a timely and correct manner
  • Support the Bursar in producing and evaluating reports to allow the production of management accounts, cashflow forecasts, annual budgets and audited accounts
  • Follow up and resolve any queries in relation to disputed supplier and customer accounts
  • Assist with present and future development of the accounting information system by participating in working groups and providing reports and information to assist decisionmaking
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets by providing reports, data and analysis as required
  • Produce analysis of figures as requested by the Bursar to support management decisionmaking
  • Have joint responsibility for petty cash, issuing as necessary and reconciling monthly
  • Work with the Bursar to ensure all year end procedures are completed.
