At Brighter Places, we are pleased to announce that a vacancy has become available for a
Head of Development to join our Homes Directorate team in
a hybrid / agile working environment.

You will join us on a
full time, permanent basis.

In return, you will receive a starting
salary of £65,000 per annum with the opportunity to obtain additional performance related pay increments.

Key Responsibilities as our Head of Development:

  • Identify business development opportunities and develop and maintain a pipeline whilst delivering our ambitious, clear, deliverable development plan, which supports growth in line with the Association's long-term plans
  • Lead on the purchase and legal acquisition of land and procurement of building contracts and ensure that appropriate compliance and due diligence is followed
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Home Services to deliver on the strategic aim to provide warm and safe homes that are net zero carbon
  • Provide leadership for the development team fostering a culture of high performance and delivery in line with our values, engaging with customers to shape service provision and strategic direction
  • Establish and maintain strong business relations with partners, Government, developers, investors, landowners and other Housing Associations and stakeholders to ensure the association is a preferred social landlord partner
  • Review, coordinate and maintain the Development risks, along with appropriate controls, ensuring a robust risk management approach
  • Collaborate with the Homes Director to develop budgets that meets the team's activities in the short to medium term whilst ensuring it represents good value for money and then manage the annual budget
  • Champion the use of new technologies both internally and within our homes to improve the lives of our residents and working conditions of colleagues
