We are looking for a
Water Hygiene Assistant to join our team at HMNB Portsmouth.

Main duties you will be performing:

  • Attend to planned maintenance on water systems in accordance with ACOP L8 & HSG274, including water system flushing, temperature monitoring, shower descale and disinfection and water sampling.
  • Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance
  • Report accidents, hazards and near misses
  • Ensure all works are completed and updated via Mobile Tablet
  • Promote a proactive Safety Culture.

Technical Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Legionella L8 awareness
  • Experience of carrying out planned maintenance work within the water hygiene industry
  • Ability to work on own initiative and lead jobs when required.
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to gain and maintain security clearance

Desirable:

  • Experience of carrying out remedial maintenance work within the Water Hygiene industry, including TMV servicing and C&D of cold water storage tanks.
  • Experience of installing or servicing Softeners
  • An unvented water heater qualification
  • Experience in plumbing of domestic water system, including dead leg removal and working with copper and plastic pipework
  • A recognised plumbing qualification, for example C&G, NVQ Level 2 or 3

Salary:
£22,500.00-£25,000.00 per year
