Lead Officer:

Physical Activity, Health & Wellbeing.- In this newly established role, you will provide strong strategic direction, leading and enabling a participative and preventative wellbeing offer which contributes to the improvement of health and wellbeing outcomes for local residents.

Your work will proactively enable the community to involve themselves in sport, active recreation and health and wellbeing activity as part of an active and healthy lifestyle.- As the overarching lead for the offer, which includes a number of leisure centres, health, wellbeing and active lifestyle programmes, you will make certain that provision continues to be delivered in line with our health and wellbeing agenda, whilst making recommendations for future direction, ensuring that we explore all viable options to continue delivering these effectively.

In addition to this, you will be commercially and financially astute and possess a track record of having delivered high quality functions that are efficient and sustainable.- This role will require someone with imagination and a focus to maintain effective multi agency partnerships which enable communities and stakeholders to connect people to do things differently, encouraging good physical and mental health and supporting communities to flourish.- We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, hardworking, committed and inspirational.

The pace is fast and work is complex.

You will need excellent leadership and communication skills and have a relentless focus on quality and outcomes.- You must be able to plan and organise your work, have natural professional curiosity and be able to build strong relationships.

You will possess a passion to lead and inspire, creating an environment that motivates all partners to perform, whilst also ensuring that the existing provision remains at a high quality.- In taking on this role, you will help fulfil the council's ambition to make a lasting impact on its communities and to use its operational and financial assets to leverage better outcomes.
