Experienced SolidWorks Design Draughtsperson

Derbyshire

£30k to £35kbased on experience + excellent paid overtime & good benefits package

INTRODUCTION

As one of the East Midlands' more established engineering companies, with a proven track record in providing advanced engineered solutions to the material handling, power generation, cement, steel, aggregates and petrochemical industries, my client has a fantasticpedigree, along with showing excellent growth over the last few years.

Due to this period of significant and sustainable growth they are now looking to add to their existing CAD team and take the company into the next phase in their development to ensure that they are able to continue to service their customers' engineering needsand develop new products for new industries.


THE ROLE

As an experienced SolidWorks Design Draughtsperson, you will:

  • Prepare and issue detail and GA drawings, utilising SolidWorks
  • Produce drawings for pretender inquiries
  • Be capable of creating a 3D drawing from an isometric, handdrawn sketch or historical designs
  • Provide design calculations
  • Design any special component necessary to complete the installation phase of projects
  • Work closely with the manufacturing area of the business to ensure components are as per specification and the drawings
  • Ensure that drawings, notes and records are stored so that they are readily available
  • Assist the project teams with site surveys and measuring customer plant and equipment to ensure that anticipated work will fit within any restrictions found on site
  • Be happy to work any additional hours (this is paid overtime) as projects progress to critical phases
  • Be aware of Health and Safety procedures, both on and off site

THE PERSON
In order to be considered for this SolidWorks Design Draughtsperson role it is expected that you will have:

  • Extensive experience of SolidWorks drawings creation.
  • Either a recognised apprenticeship within engineering or an HNC in Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience of producing engineering drawings both detail and General Arrangement for pipework, supports and steelwork (NOTE this is NOT a piping design role but includes piping)
  • Experience of producing engineering drawings for folded metal and welded assemblies
  • Knowledge of structural supports work would be beneficial
  • Good problemsolving skills and the ability to think outside the box to get the best designs
  • An understanding of engineering manufacturing
