Do you have a meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of payroll intricacies? We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team and oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Introduce clients to the fundamentals of payroll management, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Navigate the annual payroll cycle and comprehend the significance of the tax year starting on 6th April.
- Utilize official employer guidance and access the employer's PAYE account online for seamless operations.
- Explore key definitions, classes, and table letters associated with National Insurance.
- Address special considerations for Directors' National Insurance contributions.
- Calculate Standard 'A' rate National Insurance contributions (NI) with precision.
- Understand the difference between cumulative tax and noncumulative NI for accurate calculations.
- Familiarize with personal tax allowances and their impact on payroll.
- Grasp the importance of tax weeks and their implications on calculations.
- Manage pension schemes and navigate submission processes efficiently.
- Calculate and allocate tax codes for new employees, ensuring accuracy.
- Utilize adjustment tables and tax tables for precise tax calculations.
- Introduce Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) to clients.
- Provide a comprehensive overview of HMRC forms, essential dates, tax codes, and yearend adjustments.
- Set up and maintain employee records, managing pay elements, deductions, overtime, and statutory payments.
- Understand and manage the apprenticeship levy, student loan processing, and court order handling.
