Wirral Council's Climate Emergency Team is looking for a Climate Emergency Project Officer to help drive forward the Environment and Climate Emergency Action Plan and ensure we achieve our net zero carbon targets (2030 for the council and 2041 for the borough).

It's an exciting time to join our team and be part of our ambitious journey, with the opportunity to shape the response to the declared emergency and make a real change to the future lives of our residents.

The role will require you to coordinate and deliver climate change and environmental communication and engagement work across the borough.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering the DEFRA air quality awareness and engagement project, building strong partnerships and collaboration with residents, community groups, public health, schools and businesses across Wirral.

You will proactively engage with a diverse audience from staff, residents, and businesses, work in a dynamic environment and have excellent communication, presentation, people and interpersonal skills.

We're looking for someone with experience of working with stakeholders and the public.
