Band A point 16 to point 17 (£21,821 - £22,338) based on a full time equivalent

Actual gross salary based on a full academic year (£16,735 to £17,132)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term time plus three additional weeks (to cover Tours,
Easter and Christmas)

The Head of the Prep School
Purpose:
To be responsible for the Choristers in connection with Wells Cathedral
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Alongside the Director of Cathedral Music and in liaison with the Cathedral School plan and manage the choir calendar: all scheduled performances and additional events including Chorister parents teas, Chorister social events, Christmas, Easter and festival schedules and domestic and international tours
- Manage the pastoral and safeguarding logistics of chorister events i.e. catering and refreshments, exeat boarding, risk assessments and site inspection etc
- Manager communications of chorister duties and responsibilities with the necessary stakeholders ie. coordinating attendance on school trips and at sports fixtures
- Prepare a twice yearly schedule for visiting Professors to come and perform voice trials
- Working alongside the Admissions team: Attend School Open Mornings, Arrange, coordinate and attend Audition Days. liaise and communicate with prospective chorister parents
- Support chorister parents through the admissions, funding and probation processes
- Enure the safeguarding of choristers through meeting and registering Junior Choristers before each morning ranks and ensuring their safe return to the Prep School site following rehearsals
- Supervise chorister tea, daily except Wednesdays, unless the choristers are required for additional Wednesday rehearsals
- Monitor the choristers health and wellbeing through oversight of their day to day schedules and chorister commitments and the arrangement and completion of regular Chorister pastoral meetings
- Attend all meetings relative to the lives of the choristers ie. School Ops Committee meetings
- Oversee the chaperones responsible for the choristers at the end of evening and weekend performances

- Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
- Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
- Assist with pupil needs as appropriate during the school day
