Part Time Personal Assistant For Disabled Woman in 40's Totterdown Bristol

£10 PH, 15 Hours Per Week (

Preferred Days:
Monday & Wednesday Daytimes)

I am a partially disabled female artist living in the Totterdown area of Bristol.


I am very creative and am an independent person with a good sense of humour and though I'm in my forties, I have a much younger outlook.

I enjoy gardening, going to the cinema, theatre, dining out with friends, getting out in nature, exhibitions and travelling.

I'm a non-smoker and have a rescue cat called Marshmallow who has a very serious face but is a little fluffy cuddle bug.

I mainly get about using a stick but sometimes need to use a wheelchair.

I need support with domestic tasks, food shopping, laundry, driving, food prep, help with Marshmallow and the garden and attending social activities along with helping me with my physio exercises and taking my pottery work to the studio in Barton Hill.

No personal care required, but sometimes I need mental support to carry out tasks and advocacy support with things like

making phone calls and general encouragement when I'm struggling with pain.

Basically I need someone to do the things I would struggle with physically and support me when I'm struggling with tasks (so that I can live as full and independent life as possible) and who is able to empathise with the effect of living with constant pain has on my energy levels, memory and physical capabilities.

You need to have access to car, be a confident driver and preferably be a non-smoker.

DBS check will be required but if you don't have one this can be arranged via wecil.

Due to Covid-19, there is an expectation that whoever takes on the role, will wear correct PPE and take the right actions to safeguard me if the need ever arises again in the future.


Shortlisted applicants may be required to do a short trial shift (£9.50 ph) and if successful will do a month probationary period (£9.50 ph) rising to £10 ph on completion.


The 15 hours would be worked over two shifts a week ( ideally Mondays and Wednesdays) though I can be flexible if this is very problematic, (though I have a weekly appointment on Monday from am that can't be moved.) I would prefer one care assistant that could do the entire 15 hours however am open to splitting the shifts between two applicants if necessary.

Training will be given.
