WHAT TO EXPECT


The Design Programme Management team (DPM) are the -creative enablers' who operate at the centre of the Vehicle Design palette/squad, delivering programmes within the Vehicle Design team with efficiency & clarity.

The DPM team lead and manage all non-Creative activities to drive successful delivery of Brand/Programme responsibilities which includes Core, SV, Accessories and Bespoke.


The Design Chapter Lead role is the 'process enabler' for the Design Programme Management team to operate in a consistent way, defining key tools to enable the Design Programme Management team to operate more efficiently, with greater clarity and purpose.

They are accountable for ensuring the team operate within defined processes and Agile Ways of Working, constantly striving to improve the departments efficiency.

They are responsible for the "how", not the "what".


WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Lead and manage all Design Programme Management process activities to enable the Design Programme Managers / leads to successful delivery their programmes with greater focus and purpose.
  • Ensuring Design Programme Management team have the tools, skills and capabilities to perform their role more effectively / consistently.
  • Support the effective planning and communication of the Enterprise activities, alongside the Design Programme Manager to ensure departmental priorities are understood.
  • Develop the team's structure; defining the correct resource, skills and toolsets, in conjunction with the Design Programme Manager (DPM) and Design Programme Senior Manager.
  • Effectively manage a small team (direct and/or indirect) to lead in all process improvements within Design Programme Management team.
  • Support the Senior Manager in developing a high performing Design Programme Management team.
  • Centrally manage the Design Cycle Plan, supporting the Design Programme Management team in resource planning, based on business priorities and clarity on Cycle Plan changes.
  • Lead lessons learned activities within the Design Programme Management team.
  • Lead audit / compliance activities within the Design Programme Management team.
Provide Chapter Programme Management expertise to the Design Programme Management team.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

  • Experience of planning, monitoring and delivering a portfolio of process improvement projects, with a proven record of successful delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to influence others at all levels.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to interface with key stake holders at all levels (Internal Squad through to senior leaders / Enterprise and Board members).
  • Change management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource planning / allocation.
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment.
  • Design process and PCDS knowledge.
