The role:

In this role, as the Junior Sourcing Manager, you will coordinate any packaging component related sourcing tasks in connection with New Product Developments (NPD) and day-to-day operations in the respective business sector in the Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) region.

This is a hybrid role on an 18-month Fixed Term Contract.

What you will do:

Negotiation and control of regional packaging purchase prices, minimum order quantities and payment conditions with the suppliers to be supported.
Liaise with internal business partners in respective business sectors and the NPD teams to understand the demand on packaging component requirements in order to work with suppliers to reserve the initial demand for new product launches if required.

Provision of price information (via Cost Sheet), minimum purchase quantities, lead times and other parameters for Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Marketing, R&D, Production.

Coordinate alternate packaging component qualifications with support from the Sourcing manager in collaboration with Quality Management, Marketing and R&D Packaging Development. Coordination of alternative releases of packaging materials in cooperation with QM, Marketing and R&D.
Conducting negotiations and concluding contracts, including regular conduct of request for quotations.

Preparation of packaging relevant decisions in the context of launch and relaunch projects for the introduction of new or the reintroduction or modification of existing respective business sector products in the EMEA region in coordination with R&D and Marketing.

Develop and propose sourcing strategies for specific product categories to line manager, thereby focusing on profitability, efficiency, sustainability, security of supply and quality.
Selection, evaluation and release of suppliers establishment and further development of contacts to existing and new packaging components suppliers, obtaining, evaluation and comparison of competitive offers (supplier analyses).
Supplier management: Selection and control/regular evaluation of new and existing regional packaging suppliers.

What you need:

Commercial education (Bachelor in Business or Industrial Engineering of advantage)
Strategic Sourcing or Procurement experience including contract negotiations, supplier management, productivity/cost savings, spend analysis, preferably in the area of direct materials, e.g. packaging components. Expertise in initiatives that support total cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, improved coordination, delivery, pricing, leadtimes, payment and other areas as identified.
Very good language skills in English (essential) and German (desirable)
SAP knowledge (MM/FTF).
Very good communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
High level of financial acumen and commercial awareness.
