These posts are designed to provide specialist advanced endoscopy training and to support the activities of the endoscopy and gastroenterology department, within the Division of Surgery at NUH.


The posts will be based at both Queen's Medical Centre and Nottingham City campuses and there may also be endoscopy outsourcing list opportunities.

The post holders will work alongside a variety of Consultant Gastroenterologists and GI Surgeons and be responsible to the clinical leads in Endoscopy.

This is a one-year post specifically intended for registrars approaching their final years of training or immediate post-CCT, and wishing to expand their speciality endoscopy experience.


The pay scale for this post is paid at MT point 5 with on-call supplement
Main duties of the job

Minimum of 3 sub-speciality training lists in your area each week.

The primary service clinical duties of these posts is to provide flexible cover for endoscopy lists or clinic and to perform inpatient endoscopic procedures as required.

The post will therefore include an average of 5 flexible service sessions per week There will be one session for audit/research and one session for patient or service related administration work.

There will be the expectation of contributing to the consultant supported out-of-hours GI registrar/fellow on-call service. This will be primarily based at Queen's Medical Centre campus although cover is required for City hospital campus.

Flexible time is allocated for independent study, training, audit or research related activities to ensure all 4 domains set by the GMC Good Medical Practice are fulfilled.


Time off in lieu equates to non-working time and will be assigned to ensure out of hours working is rest regulation compliant in line with the appointees contract.

  • Competent in upper and lower GI diagnostic Endoscopy
  • Experience completing/presenting audits and interpreting data

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
