Role & Responsibilities /_
Key Accountabilities

1.
Creating the Future of the school
- working with the Executive Head, Senior Leadership team and governors to create the strategic vision for the trust
- motivate others to create a shared learning culture and positive climate through distribution of leadership through teams and individuals
- translate the vision into agreed objectives and operational plans
- use the trust structure to maximise and deploy both resources and expertise to raise achievement across the trust

Reading Teaching and Learning/outcomes and standards:

- ensure a continuous and consistent trust-wide focus on pupils' achievement, using data and benchmarks to monitor progress
- establish creative, responsive and effective approaches to learning and teaching
- set high expectations and set stretching targets for each school community
- monitor, evaluate and review school practice and promote improvement strategies
- tackle under-performance at all levels

Developing Self and Working with Others
- ensure the development of, and maintain effective strategies and procedures for, staff induction, professional development and performance review
- promote and maintain a culture of high expectations for self and others
- ensure effective planning, allocation, support and evaluation of work of teams and individuals
- regularly review own practice, set personal targets and take responsibility for own development

Managing the Organisation
- ensuring the ongoing development of an organisational structure which reflects the school's values and enables effective and efficient operations
- ensure evidence-based improvement plans and policies promote continuous school improvement
- effectively strategically manage the school's human, financial and physical resources
- recruit, retain and deploy staff appropriately

Securing Accountability
- develop a trust ethos which enables everyone to work collaboratively

Key Role

  • To work with the Executive Head and other staff in implementing the curriculum for Key Stage One and Key Stage Two.
  • To work with the Executive Head and other staff in ensuring the safety of all children, young people and vulnerable adults within the school. To complete the annual Safeguarding training and understand and comply with all Safeguarding policies and practices.
  • To identify staff training needs and prepare staff training programmes. Deliver staff training as appropriate.
  • To work with the staff to prepare and deliver parent training or information evenings.
  • To oversee the assessment and testing process, analysing pupil progress and working collaboratively with staff to provide for pupil needs including purchase of resources, changes to curriculum and staff training.
  • To champion the school's promise to deliver each child with an education that is remarkable imaginative and creative ensuring that any mediocre practices are challenged and school strategies, staff training, resources and methods of teaching do not restrict us to adopt the 'norm' but set 'new' trends and standards in education.
  • To champion the school's passion and development for the Arts.
  • To be part of the education visits committee and to organise the schools residential educational visit.
  • To work with the Executive Head to prompt updates to school policies and procedures and operational documents liaising with the policy and procedure coordinator to ensure that changes are made swiftly and effectively.
  • To engage with pupil groups as and when required usually leading a weekly act of worship.
