Description
The Christie Pathology Partnership (CPP) is a joint venture between The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and SYNLAB, providing Pathology services for The Christie, the largest single site cancer centre in Europe.
SYNLAB, the largest provider of laboratory pathology and diagnostic services in Europe, operates in 35 countries and conducts approximately 500 million tests per annum.
CPP is seeking a dedicated Administrative Officer to support the Oncology Cytogenetics department and provide ad hoc administrative support as needed.
Duties include:
- Provide dedicated administrative support to the Oncology Cytogenetics department and "frontofhouse" reception to deal with telephone enquiries
- Manage ordering and stock control and take responsibility for purchasing routine supplies
- Deal with operational problems in the department, such as arranging maintenance and repair
- Organize meetings and manage meeting administration
- Manage the maintenance of records and filing systems for all laboratory and quality records
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Secondary level education with GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
- NVQ3 level qualification or equivalent experience
- Significant admin, clerical, or secretarial experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate level use of IT packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
