Summary

Sherwood Primary School is an outstanding two form entry Primary School. We are looking to appoint a highly committed teaching assistant to join our hardworking and dedicated team.

The successful applicant will be expected to work with children delivering high quality interventions and work closely alongside our class teachers to support our children in the class.

The role includes working as a Higher level teaching Assistant for 1 day each week.

This includes taking responsibility for the planning and delivery of an aspect of the Curriculum and assessing children's progress in this area.


We provide Sherwood children with a vibrant curriculum and work closely with our families to support children's social and emotional needs.

Our children work hard and show fantastic commitment to their learning and the life of our School. This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ/BTEC Level 3 childcare qualification or higher qualification
English and Mathematics GCSE Grade C or aboveDesirable Qualifications

Higher Level Teaching Assistant QualificationEssential Experience

  • Experience of working with children in a school in a teaching assistant role
A positive role model for children who will lead by example and form positive relationships within a teamDesirable Experience

  • Monitoring targets for future progress
  • Establishing and developing strong relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and carers
  • Have a clear understanding of all the needs of all pupils
  • Monitoring pupils progress in reference with the school's practice
